Declaring a Fast

"Destroying Satan's Kingdom"

Pastor Rob Thomas

Luke 19:41-44

One of the saddest moments leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus happened just moments before He rode into Jerusalem.  He looked over the city and wept, as he said they didn’t even understand the day they were given by history.  It changed ALL of history… and yet most people today, including the church, do not understand the day they have been given.  Do you?  What can we do today to maximize our impact?  What does Fasting and Prayer accomplish for the clash of the two kingdoms?

Turning a Nation to God

"Becoming Part of His Kingdom"

Pastor Rob Thomas

II Chronicles 15:1-6; II Corinthians 5:19; Romans 1:21-24

The story was told last week.  King Asa seemed to be a follower of God.  But his leadership lent a nation to failure before God.  Why?  (1.)  The nation was a godless country; (2.)  The Pastors and teachers of the land weren’t teaching God’s Word, and what His expectations for them were; and (3.) There was a lawlessness in the land. The first problem led to the next problem and laid the ground for the last problem.  There was a CRISIS of gargantuan proportions (throughout the whole country.)  There was only one answer, and it was almost too simple:  when they sought God, He let them find Him, and He brought rest to their problematic situation.  How does this relate to us today?!

Disruptions, Distractions, Disorder

"Withing the Kingdoms"

Pastor Rob Thomas

II Chronicles 15:1-6

Today we are seeing disruptions in our homes, distractions in the order of our world, and disorder and chaos on the big screens of our lives.  What are we to do?  In our scripture today it is like reading a newspaper.  There was no peace… the people of the land were afflicted with every kind of trouble… and their spirits were being crushed.  But in an all-time surprise in the scriptures, it tells us that God was the one who troubled them.  Wow!  Covid-19 is acting like one of those distresses. For there is a restlessness in the air.  Afraid, nervous, insecure.  No peace.  Is God trying to get our attention?  If so, what is the message?  This could be one of our greatest challenges as a church yet.  How will we respond to this clarion bell-weather moment?
